Dr Dean Jacobs
I strongly believe that every door that opens in life leads down the path you were meant to travel. Some ignore the doors and prefer to shelter in the embrace of mediocrity. When I came across a door, sketched and painted with wonderous colours, and unlike any I had seen before, I knew turning the handle would reveal everything for which I had hoped.
That door cleared the debris of discontent and the litter of confusion to leave a glistening path of creativity and freedom. It silenced the timid voice whispering, 'what can I do?' and defiantly yelled back, 'what can't I do?'
That door led me down a path of a decade-long acclaimed design career, a research-driven Doctorate of Creative Arts, a number of successful gallery exhibitions, multiple novel publishing deals, award winning illustrations and industry recognition for innovation in the creative field.
The future rises enticingly in the distance; doors of opportunity continue to appear, each hiding the next challenge.
This is definitely a 'watch this space' scenario.
